The Colours of Mayfield
Technically, coloured PVC has been around for some time, but
until recently was not suitable for Sun Decks, Access Ramps, fencing
and other external accessories. The reason for this was
inadequate performance and poor durability. Coloured PVC would become
brittle
and discolour badly in a very short space of time. This
meant we were unable to offer coloured PVC in our range as it did
not meet
our stringent quality requirements.
However at Mayfield we have very skilled research and development
engineers who have been working closely over the past 4 years with
PVC material suppliers to create coloured PVC, specifically suitable
for our Sun Deck, Access Ramp and fencing applications. The results
have been amazing, as we have, through constant testing and development,
created a product that we believe to be the best of its kind anywhere
in the world.
The make up is almost a replica of our already existing, and very
successful, white and cream profiles, staying with co-extrusion technology
as this has been proven to be the most durable with our complete
range. The skin, which is the outer layer of the profile, has been
modified using the latest UV stabilisers and antioxidants, and means
we can confidently give a 15-year warranty. That’s how confident
we are!!
Dark green was introduced into our range at the beginning of this
year and dark brown was introduced this month. Parks, which previously
could only offer you wooden decks and ramps, now have an attractive,
durable end environmentally alternative.
